NEW INTERVIEW

Tim Garnett lifts the lid. Heavy mobile equipment thermography.

AUGUST 8, 2018

How did you first discover thermography?

I heard about thermography when I was working as a reliability technician. I was reading an article about different non-destructive techniques and how they play a role for a successful condition monitoring strategy and was fascinated by thermography.

During my Heavy Duty Diesel apprenticeship I learned that heat can be an indicator of failure within componentry and when I learnt about thermography I thought how great it would be to have a visual representation of the “hot spot”.
